35+ Wedding centerpiece Ideas

Beautiful & unique wedding centerpieces - from succulents to bright colours! Today’s centerpieces were collected for us by the South African White Weddings Team We asked the team a few questions on wedding decor & planning to give our members insight into their process and ideas!

1. Where should Brides starts when it comes to selecting decor & ideas for their wedding day?

The best place to start is always by exposing yourself to lots of beautiful ideas and different weddings. Sites like YesBaby, Pinterest, The Pretty Blog and also buying a few wedding magazines are a great way to get started. Obviously if you’re looking to use a wedding planner and decor specialist to assist you, the earlier you meet with them the more help you’ll get! Remember, we’ve been exposed to hundreds of events so we can provide you with ideas on how to make your vision come alive.

2. What makes a wedding or event stand out - are there specific things you would say Brides should focus on?

Definitely! It’s about the fundamental principles: planning, hospitality and authenticity. To start, create a great, hardworking team of professionals, vendors that are excited about helping you create a customized event. Also think about events from an experiential perspective — what will it feel like to be at the event, will it stay interesting and does it have a point of view. From the planning standpoint, ask your vendors lots of questions, set high expectations and plan, plan, plan! It definitely helps to have an experienced and enthusiastic team behind you!

3. Do you think it’s possible to plan and host an event on a budget that still has that high-end feel?

Yes — it’s all about how you use your budget. Just because an event has expensive flowers, does not mean that it’s high-end. It’s about how the design and event elements are presented and used together to create a sophisticated, exciting and unforgettable experience for your guests — regardless of budget.

4. What would you suggest to someone who wants to throw a party on a budget?

Authenticity, hospitality and solid execution don’t cost much. If you try to do everything, you’ll spread yourself too thin and blow your budget very quickly. Create one main design component that is a focus for the night — a large bar, or giant photo/graphic – rather than many small elements. Often Brides assume that getting a planner makes it more expensive, when really trained professionals know how to mould your budget to help you create something truly exceptional within your budget.

5. What is some advice you can give Brides when picking a wedding planner or event designer?

The most important would be find a company you can trust. Firstly, trust to deliver as promised, so make certain you can trust they will be reliable and won’t disappear on you. Secondly, you don’t want a company that won’t invest their energy and enthusiasm into your big day. Find a company with individuals who appreciate how important this event is to you - and will deliver accordingly. They should also have a flair for design, and be able to present you amazing and unique ideas that will really add something to your day! Clever events companies know how to create an experience.
